Blue to Yellow

Time to switch back to the Yellow camp. Its a pity my old number is no longer available. Oh well guess I just have to stick with the current number.

I feel a bit guilty to be still enjoying benefits from my previous company :)... for the last 2 years. When I joined 1Si back in 2005, I signed up for a company subsidised mobile package. To my surprise since I left the company in 2009, Celcom still haven't terminate my package or even changed it to their normal package. I am still enjoying the monthly discount / rebate of RM60.

The bill still says "X-FAB(SARAWAK) SDN. BHD. " even though I left 2 years ago.

RM60 Discount every month :D

A few days ago I got a shock of my life! I receive an SMS saying my un-billed usage has reach the maximum limit! And I need to pay RM265.25 in order to continue using. It didn't take me long to figure out why...

I bought a new phone recently, Xperia Play, and I was playing around with the 3G data, GPS and etc. Apparently I forgot to turn off the GPS+3G data while driving around Kuching. Then suddenly I received the dreaded SMS. Since my plan was a voice only plan. Celcom charge me RM0.10 for every 10kb used!

OMG! they never warn their customers who are not on data plan about this! at least they should have send an early SMS to warn about the charges! Anyway serves me right for not checking first. At least I enjoyed the special benefits for 2 years. :)  I saved at least RM 1440 from the discount/rebates.

I am switching to Digi's Smart Plan Lite. Now I can just leave the 3G data and GPS on all the time and not worry about extravagant bills! If I exceed the 300Mb quota they will just throttle the speed down.

With Watsapp and Viber I wont be using voice or SMS services, so this plan is just perfect. Unless of cause I go to areas without 3G coverage. :P

Phase 3 Complete!

After a long 90 Days! I finally completed P90X Lean! But I must admit I didn't follow the routine fully. I only completed 58.2% of the total workout days. So basically I only did 53 days of the total 90 days.

Overall I went from 90kg to 84.4kg. That is a total loss of 5.6 kg. Quite impressive for a 58.2% commitment only.

Phase 3 Schedule.
Final Progress

Gonna start round 2 after a weeks rest :D.

After Phase 1
After Phase 2
After Phase 3
And after all that hard work I reward myself with...
indulgence....

Phase 2 Complete!

Yeah! I made it! Lowest weight I got in ages! I hit 84.5kg at one point but went back up to 86kg the next day. Hahaha cause there was a series of sumptuous dinners ...  Grandma's Birthday, Wesak Day holidays and a Wedding :D

Phase 2 Routines

I have to admit the progress was slower than I expected, due to unforeseen circumstances. My 500GB Seagate HDD crashed midway through week 6. And guess where I store all my Videos, Movies, Series, TVB dramas, Anime, CD and DVD Images. Yes it was in there…all 400+Gb of it. Luckily for me it was recoverable. It was a firmware bug in that batch of Seagate HDD that caused it to be undetectable when the PC boots up.

Weight Chart

The reason I never noticed it was because I never turn off my PC. Until that week :P…PC Fair 2011. I bought a new 2TB HDD and decided to swap out my old 320GB HDD, for my sister. After a week of troubleshooting and researching I finally figured a way to fix it. I will post details on how I fix it later :D

I only loss about 0.9kg in Phase 2, but I am beginning to see some physical change. :D Anyway one more phase to go and I will complete my first round of P90X Lean Routine.

After Phase 2... yes I lost the hair too..
After Phase 1
Still wandering if I should buy the resistance band from Beachbody.com. The Reebok band I bought from Fitness Concept @ TheSpring doesn't seem to be heavy enough. :(

Most expensive hair cut to date :) RM100. But I rather give my money to Charity rather than the Government (Tax Exemption)

Phase 1 complete!

Five weeks ago, I started my "Getting Fit" project. Today is the start of Phase 2. Phase 1 completed.
Phase 1 Table
I have lost a total of 3.5kg so far. Good progress considering the many setbacks to the project. The first week was tough as hell. We went back to Sibu for Ching Ming festival, on the 1st of April, so the project was put on hold for the week, amidst busy preparation and setting of Exam papers for my students.
My Weight. Target is 80kg still over weight. Secondary Target will put me on the upper  BMI limit.
So week 2 went on as normal. But week 3 was election week. This time around I skipped 3 days of workout, just to attend EPIC election campaigns, and an evening spend in front of the monitor observing tweets coming in for the election results.

Week 4 was the Church’s Holy week; again I skipped 4 days of workout, starting with Holy Thursday all the way till Easter Sunday (yesterday).

Hopefully Phase 2 of the workouts can progress without much interruption.
After Phase 1

Calculator Bug?

What is the correct answer for 30 / 2 (2+3) / 5? 0.6 or 15?

Manual mathematical calculation it is 15!
 30 / 2 (2+3) / 5 = 30 / 2 (5) / 5 = 15 (5) /5 = 75 / 5 = 15.

Then why is it some calculators come up with the wrong answer?

The answer is simple, this is because of some programing bug, multiplication has a higher priority function then division.  So the calculator will see 30/2*5/5 after computing (2+3) and compute the multiplication 1st , followed by the division so the equation would become 30 / 10 / 5 = 3/5 = 0.6.

Many software has already resolve this issue. Attempting to enter "=30/2(2+3)/5" in Excel will result in the following warning.

Accepting the change will give the correct answer, as  multiplication *, division /, and modulus %, now has the same priority.

Similarly the Calculator program in Windows.

The '2' cannot be entered without first pressing the arithmetic operator.

Yay we voted!

What a morning! 7 early 8 early, EC is already trying to confuse people. On the website, we are supposed to cast our vote at Tadika Kemas Kampung Stampin.

But when we reached there we saw this.... and there were no people, no voters queuing up, no traffic or at least some some sort of indication that, that is the polling station.
Notice at the Main Road Side.
We thought that the venue has changed, so we went to Kampung Lubok Buan. Upon reaching there, there were a lot of people queuing up. Mr. Alfred Yap was there, but he only shook hand with the Dayak votes. He completely ignored the Chinese voters that were there. How silly of him.....

Alot of voters here. Some of them are ask to go back to the correct polling station.
When we reached the counter, the EC officer there said our names were not in the list. We said there is a notice outside by the road side at Tadika Kemas saying the venue has changed to Kpg Lubok Buan. He argued that it is supposed to be at Tadika Kemas. So we went back again to Tadika Kemas.

True enough there was a unnoticeable print. "LOKALITI TERLIBAT: 002 Stampin Resettlement" at first glance you will see only the RED print "PERTUKARAN PUSAT MENGUNDI" and "Balai Raya Kampung Lubok Buan Stampin Resettlement Scheme Jalan Stutong Baru"
Notice no voters queuing up, and the police are hiding at the back.
At the polling station at Tadika Kemas, there are only 5 EC workers , and no voters queuing up. I told one of the worker there that the notice outside is confusing. All he said was "is it?? no wonder there is no one here this morning"

Anyway I have casted my vote! Please pass this message along! so people will not be confused.
